This is a 1952 Schlitz beer ad which shows us how loving and understanding husbands were in those days. Despite the wife's shameful neglect of her role as a housewife that resulted in her completely burning the dinner, the husband still comforts her kindly. After all, he still has the good ol' Schlitz beer! :) The wife - apparently still unaware of what a bottle of Schlitz can do to rise up spirits - is in tears, heartbroken by the failure of duty.
